JUNE 2009
Dear Friends,
As summer approaches, it’s a great time to experience this world, and to look and listen for God in a special place far from the interference of civilization. A boat on the water or a hike in the mountains or simply camping in the forest is a wonderful place to appreciate the blessings of summer. Your favorite summer place might be a stretch of beach, a country road, a bike path, your backyard garden or a picnic blanket in a park.
God created summer and has filled the season with wonders to behold if only we take the time to look and listen. May each of you experience God in the stillness and beauty of the world He created. Enjoy reading this issue of our newsletter from the spouses in San Diego, where it’s always summer!

MARCH 2009
Greetings Everyone,
We begin the fifth year of our newsletter with this issue. It is amazing to see how much it has changed over the years. In the first issue, March 2005, Evelyn Burt had this to share with all of us,
“Last January at the Senior Leadership Symposium for Chaplains in St. Petersburg, FL a group of spouses met together to plan out a quarterly newsletter for Chaplain Spouses. I felt that this was an idea God had placed in my heart as a tool to help Chaplain Spouses feel more connected with one another.” We have prayed that our newsletter would find its way to the many of you now receiving it. There are 374 names on our email list.
This has, indeed, been a wonderful way to reach out and connect with all of you. We must say farewell to Chaplain and Mrs. Burt this summer when they retire. Along the way, Evelyn has been a constant inspiration and guide. With this issue Evelyn shares her “final end notes”.
Thank you, to each of you who have contributed in one way or another to make this newsletter what it is today.
Blessings,
Judy Lantz
